I shouldn't be so star struck by all this. But, I am. (Yay!)
Now, many of you may not have believed that Barack Obama was delighted with my fund raising concept. That's really ok, I didn't either.
BUT, now... it's on his main page!
...look in the bottom right hand corner. It's not big, but it's there. I have no idea how long it will last, but it's there now. So, whether Barack is 'your man' or not, donate a little bit because I'm 'your man'.
Now, if this isn't enough, I have more.
When the campaign called a few weeks ago to say that my fund raising site was cool I was happy enough. I assumed they just threw in a gratuitous, "hey, by the way, Barack saw it and laughed and said that you're doing a great job and wanted us to thank you you for all that you're doing." thing.
...then Barack called me. No sh*#.
Tuesday afternoon, after I just laid down to take a nap, I answered the phone (from a 'Private number' of course) and said, "This is Andrew." To which he replied, "Andrew, it's B'rac oh-BAHHM-ah" in that oh so distinctive Barack way. To which I said, "noooooo it's nahhhht!". But, yes, it was.
The conversation wasn't long, but he was certainly amused with my photo and height based donation system. I asked him if I could give him some advice. He said yes. I told him that his shipping prices for bumper stickers were way high and not helping him get people to slap said stickers on their cars. He said that it "sounds like a tricky distributional problem", thanked me for letting him know and said it would be looked into.
So, if you've been wanting to order a $3.00 Obama'08 bumper sticker but haven't yet found the cash for the $7.50 shipping cost (I know! it's outrageous... ), keep an eye on it. Barack's on the case and it might be resolved soon. For the sake of a better distributional process, we can only hope.
So, donate. Barack likes it. You should to.
